Guardianship orders and intervention orders can be granted by a court for adults who are incapable of making their own decisions in relation to their property and financial affairs or their personal welfare, or a combination of both. Intervention orders are used to deal with specific issues, whereas guardianships will be granted where ongoing management of an adult’s affairs is needed. This is a complex and changing area of law and we have significant experience of helping families achieve the outcomes they are seeking to assist and support their loved ones.
